Volkswagen Jetta Gas Mileage

VW Jetta is a midsize sedan available in entry level S, Special Edition, SEL, and TDI trims. Jetta was introduced to the market by Volkswagen during 1980s.

Engine Specs

The current generation Jetta models are powered by either 2.0-L four-cylinder or 2.5-L five-cylinder engine.

The base and S are powered by a 4-cylinder engine that is capable of generating 115 hp and 125 lb-ft of torque. The trims SE and SEL feature a five-cylinder engine that generates 170 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque.

Both engines are paired with either standard 5-speed manual or optional 6-speed automatic gear transmission.

The trim TDI features a turbocharged 2.0-L diesel engine that rates 140 and 236 of power and torque respectively. This engine is mated to six-speed manual transmission.

Fuel Economy

The estimated EPA fuel economy of 4-cylinder engine is 24 mpg in the city premises, 34 mpg on the highway roads and 28 mpg on combined driving with the manual gear and 23/32/26 with the automatic transmission.

2011 Volkswagen Jetta gas mileage of five-cylinder gets one mpg more or less than 2.0-L 4-cylinder engine.

The fuel economy of TDI stands at outstanding 30/42/34 mpg.
