The Jetta model from Volkswagen is a luxury model available in both the diesel and petrol versions. The present generation Jetta diesel model is powered by the 2.0 liter four-banger engine that can produce power up to 140 hp at an angular speed of 5500 rpm and torque of 236 lb ft at an angular speed of 4000 rpm.

Apart from the new diesel engine equipped in the model, the present generation Jetta model is also featured with the rail fuel injection system, by replacing traditional mechanical system used in all the Volkswagen models. This uses piezoelectric fuel injector that permits high level of injection pressures. This technology minimises the fuel consumption and also make it easier to control the pollution.
With the powerful engine equipped in the Volkswagen Jetta diesel model, it can achieve an average fuel economy of 50 miles per gallon, combined city and highway. The diesel model is also featured with all the basic amenities needed for a luxury car. Apart from the luxury features, it is also equipped with all the safety as well as entertainment features.
